This probably has to do with Windows rather than STM, but I thought I'd report it.

I'm running in Excel 2007 under Windows Vista.  I click my STM icon to start it.  If I then switch to another running program window right away, I can't switch back to the Excel window where STM is running by clicking the Vista taskbar button.  If I try, the first time I click it I get an hourglass mouse pointer.  The second time I click it the taskbar whites out.  Then clicking any taskbar button gives a Windows "program not responding" pop-up window.  The only way out of this is using Alt-Tab to switch to the Excel program, at which point I switch to Excel normally and STM finishes loading - everything returns to normal.

Fix: Don't do that.
