Total Income Override
« Topic Start: June 14, 2009, 08:57:31 AM »

If I override the payouts, the Total shown on the Income Report equals the total of the payouts rather than the total of the buy-ins.  I suspect you did this on purpose but I'm not sure your reasoning for it.  I think the income report should always show the actual total income from buy-ins.  The only circumstances where I forsee using payout overrides are these:

1.  Freeroll.
2.  Tournament with overlay.
3.  Special payout structure, but based on total equaling the buy-in totals.

For #3, the total income would be equal to the total payouts.

For #1 and #2, I would want my income report to just show the amount collected from the players.  Or, even better, I'd like to see a total of the buy-ins, and then subtract the total of the override amounts to show a net income or loss for the tournament.

Agreed. Great suggestion. I'll try to get it into the next release. I should probably add an "overlay" field to make things easier in those cases. That way, you wouldn't need to use the override function at all for scenario #3.

Thanks.

Implemented in build #7. Corrected the income report. Total income is now shown, as well as total payouts (overrides are properly handled) and net income. I also added new functionality for House Overlays. You can enter either a fixed overlay amount or a guaranteed first place payout amount (the overlay amount is then variable). Of course, you can disable overlays altogether as well.

This never actually made it into a production version due to a crash issue so it is back on the ACTIVE list.
