Error......

I cant start the software ,I have always this message:
Error starting the program
13
Type mismatch

Can somebody help me?

It sounds like the addin didn't get installed properly. Did you ever get a message from Excel stating the program has been installed?

Are you attempting to start the program from your start menu or by opening the XLS file?

Does the splash screen show up before this error appears?

Were you ever able to get the program started or has this been a problem from the start?

Is this the first time you've ever tried STM or did you possibly have an older version installed at one time?

What version of Excel are you using?

1: I tried both ways and it's not working.

2:The spreadsheet open with the logo but when I doubleclick on it ,I have the message.

3: Yes it's the first time and I have the new version.

4: Excell 2003

Is there a message next to the logo stating:

"Your Excel macro security level may be preventing SimpleTourneyManager from running. If you are unsure how to set your macro security level to allow macros to run, please visit SimpleTourneyManager.com forums and view the Frequently Asked Questions post (under the 'Questions' message board)."

Also, we need to verify that the Addin is installed. Go to Tools...Addins and click the check box next to SimpleTourneyManager.

Yes I have the message next to the logo.

I went to the Addins and I click the check next to Simpletourneymanager.

I tried to start again and its not working.

Always  Error starting the program

Please verify that you have macros enabled. Take a look at this FAQ for instructions. Let me know...

OK. Let's try this:

1. Delete the entire directory where you installed STM.
2. Find the MSI file you downloaded from here and run it again.
3. When it asks you where to install the program, change the directory name so it's different from the one you just deleted.
4. Open Excel (not via STM, though ... just Excel by itself)
5. Under Tools...Addins, select the SimpleTourneyManager entry. If you did steps 1-4, you should receive a message stating that the addin can't be found, and asking you whether or not the entry should be removed from the list. Click "Yes" (or "OK", I can't remember which).
6. Under Tools...Macros...Macro Security, set it to Low (you can set it back to Medium later).
7. Close Excel.
8. Attempt to start STM from the Start Menu.

Excel should open, find that the Addin isn't available and install it, give you a message stating that the program was installed with default values, display the splashscreen (which should say that you are using the demo version and how many days you have left), then display the main program screen. Let me know where in the process you get the error message (hopefully, nowhere!).

I apologize for the trouble you're having with this. We'll get it figured out, though.

How far did it get? Did the splashscreen come up? Did the "SimpleTourneyManager installed with default values" message come up?

Is your version of Excel a limited version, such as the Student version? I don't really think it matters (or at least it didn't in earlier versions), but I'm not sure what else could be causing this.

Thank you for your patience. Obviously, if we can't get this working in a reasonable amount of time, I'll be happy to refund your purchase.

Sorry, I've been unavailable for the last couple of days.

I honestly don't know what's going on with your installation. I can't replicate it and I haven't had reports from any other users like this. I'm going to email you an advance copy of the update I'm working on now, just to see if that will take care of your issue. I doubt it will, but it's worth a try.

I replaced the XLA files by the new one.I started the Simpletourney manager and I had the same message.And I cant find any DebugLog.txt in the file where I installed it.
