I replaced the XLA files by the new one.I started the Simpletourney manager and I had the same message. And I cant find any DebugLog.txt in the file where I installed it.

Hmmm. I'll send you another replacement file in a day or two. I'm out of town for a couple of days, but will send soon.

In the meantime, please verify that you have a file named winmm.dll installed somewhere on your computer. I'm not sure what directory it would be in, but somewhere under "Windows". Best bet is just to do a search from the start menu.

Replacement XLA file sent via email. Please give it a try and let me know.

Also, after you do the search for the winmm.dll file, do another search, but for "SimpleTourneyManager.xla". If you find more than one copy, let me know.

And finally (this is important): Open Excel, hit ALT-F11, then click on Tools...References.
Confirm that the following entries exist:

  • Visual Basic for Applications (file path should include VBA6. if it's VBA5, it's a problem)
  • Microsoft Excel 12.0 Object Library (yours will be a different number, let me know what it is)
  • Microsoft Office 12.0 Object Library (again, let me know what number your is)
  • Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library (might not show up on the list. let me know)
  • OLE Automation

Thanks. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

That's what it was supposed to do. It was just a test for some minimal functionality.

More to follow...

Please try using the "Detect and Repair" function in Excel (found under the Help menu) to see if there's a problem with your Excel installation.

What version of Windows are you using? It shouldn't matter, but I'm just curious.

Thanks,

TM

I really don't know what to say. I haven't had any other reports of trouble starting the program. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to try to figure this out right now. I'll be emailing you in the next day or so...

I don't know if this will solve the problem, but it looks like there's a Service Pack 3 available for Office 2003. If you don't have it installed, I'd install it and see if it helps.

Also, I noticed from your purchase info that you're in scenic Quebec and I'm guessing your system is set up for French, which means it'll use a comma as a decimal point and a period as a place separator. While I know the program handles this fine in newer versions of Excel, I'm not 100% sure it will do so in Excel 2003. I'll see if I can get info from some of my other international customers to verify. Please confirm (or deny) that your system is set up as I described.

Thanks,

TM.
