Q: How do I get started with a blinds schedule?
A: The best bet is to start with one of the stock blinds schedules included with the program. There are several available. To load one, just click on the "Load..." button above the blinds schedule on the "Setup" page. A dialog box will appear showing all of the blinds schedules available. The blinds schedule you selected will then be loaded.
Q: How do I edit a blinds schedule?
A: You can either double click on any of the blinds schedule boxes (Level, Duration, SB, BB, Ante or Comments), which will bring up the Round Editor, where you can edit each of the fields, or you can simply edit the fields directly in the boxes on the "Setup" page.
Q: How do I save my edits?
A: Follow the same procedure as for loading a blinds schedule, except, start by clicking the "Save..." button. Either enter a new name for your blinds schedule in the text box at the top of the screen or click on one of the existing blinds schedules to overwrite it.
Q: How do I edit the "Comments" section of the blinds schedule?
A: You don't. They're calculated results, based on the data you entered. They will be updated whenever you exit one of the blinds schedule boxes (SB, BB, etc...).
Q: What's up with the color-ups in the "Comments" section of the blinds schedule? They change when I enter information in the "Chips Available" section.
A: Correct. Before you enter any chips in the "Available" column, the program assumes you have some of every one of the chip denominations listed in the table, and calculates the color-ups accordingly. But when you have any data entered in the "Available" column, the program assumes you have ONLY those chips that you've entered, and calculates the color-ups based on that information. It can look a bit odd as you start to enter chips available, but once you have them all entered, it should look more normal. If it doesn't, you probably don't have a good match between the blinds schedule and your chips.
Q: Why did the program ask me if I want to change from a blinds schedule with say, 1000 starting chips, to a blinds schedule with say, 200 starting chips?
A: When you hit the "Suggest Chips" button, the program compares the blinds schedule to the chips you've indicated you have available and makes a recommendation to fit the two together. So if you have indicated that you have chips with a denomination of 1, but the blinds schedule starts is such that the smallest chip necessary has a denomination of 5, the program will recommend that you scale the blinds schedule down by a factor of 5, in an effort to get the best utilization of your chips. When this happens, the program will ask you whether or not you want to scale the blinds. If you allow scaling, review the resulting blinds schedule and make whatever edits you deem necessary. Sometimes, you can end up with some strange progressions when this occurs. Another option is to simply pick one of the pre-loaded blinds schedules that starts with lower denominated chips.
