It would be nice to have the option to set the chip up reminders to take place at a break rather than at the first level they are no longer needed. I often wait for the next break to chip up.
Along with this, I don't like the chip color displays disappearing along the way as chip up levels are passed. Yes, they should advance as new chip colors are introduced. But it isn't necessary to make it so only the ones used show - it could always show five of the different colors. That is, if you only have three colors left being used, it could still display five.
The reason: sometimes chips will stay in play for one reason or another beyond the first calculated chip up level. If the program let me set the chip up levels wherever I wanted, it wouldn't be an issue. But as it goes, the lower color chips doen't always get taken off the table at the same point that the program calculates that they get removed. This is especially true near the end of a tournament - when there are just two or three players left, there often isn't any need to stop to do a chip up.
I had thought of that during development but decided that simple is best. The fewer inputs that are required by the user, the easier it is to use and the less prone it is to error.
While it's true that the lower denomination chips might remain in play for any number of reasons, it's also true that players won't need the on-screen reminder of the denominations at that point, at least for the lower denomination chips since they will have been using them for a long time by then.
